Leander Kandilige

Dr Leander Kandilige holds a DPhil (PhD) in Migration Studies from the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford. His DPhil thesis is titled Transnationalism and the Ghanaian Diaspora in the UK: Regional Inequalities and the Developmental Effects of Remittances at the Sub-National Level. In addition, he holds an MSt in Forced Migration (University of Oxford); MA in International Affairs (University of Ghana); Postgraduate Certificate in Managing Voluntary Organisations (University of Southampton) and BA (First Class Honours) in Political Science and Philosophy (University of Ghana). His areas of academic research interest include: global South-North migratory movements and their effects on policy formulation; migration-development nexus and implications for developing countries; immigrant transnationalism and conceptualisations of the State; and the role of exile communities in shaping the politics and international relations of sending countries.
