He is a nationally and internationally recognized authority in the treatment of erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease. His academic contributions include more than 160 published articles and 45 book chapters and two books specifically on Peyronie’s disease. His innovative contributions of urology include the treatment of Peyronie’s disease with intralesional verapamil injections and traction therapy, suppression of recurrent prolonged erections, or priapism, with ketoconazole, microdenervation of the spermatic cord for chronic scrotal content pain, and he was the first in the U.S. to utilize a minimally invasive approach for retrieving sperm in men with severe forms of infertility using testicular sperm aspiration, or TESA.
