Laura González

Laura Katherine Gonzalez Diaz is a PhD student in engineering. She is a doctoral research assistant in the Water Distribution and Sewerage Systems Research Center - (CIACUA) of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Universidad de los Andes. She is a Civil Engineer graduated from the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios. She has a Specialization in University Teaching at the Universidad Piloto de Colombia. She has a MSc in Civil Engineering with emphasis on Water Resources and Hydroinformatics. She has worked for almost 7 years, guiding courses in fluid mechanics, pipe hydraulics, water distribution systems and urban drainage, among others. She has participated in different international conferences like Latin American Congress of Hydraulics (LATHID), World Environmental & Water Resources (EWRI), and Water Distribution Systems Analysis & Computing and Control in the Water Industry (WDSA/CCWI). Also, she received recognition as a noted graduate in the academic category. Her thesis proposal focuses on predicting the behavior of a network when an event occurs and the change in water quality conditions when it is altered.
