Laura A. Pace

Dr. Laura A. Pace is a Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Metrodora Institute, a national medical and research center focused on neuroimmune axis disorders. She is a Neurogastroenterologist with board certifications in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Autonomic Disorders. Dr. Pace has advanced clinical training in neurogastroenterology and medical genetics. She has been a leader in the rare disease space for many years, serving as the Co-Lead for the adult program for the University of Utah NIH Undiagnosed Diseases Network (NIH UDN) clinical site. Dr. Pace is a fierce patient advocate, serving as a Medical Board member for Dysautonomia International and Chair of the Gastrointestinal Working Group for the International Consortium on Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Pace has a BS in Chemistry from Stony Brook University, a PHD in Neuroscience from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a MD from the University of Illinois Chicago. She has broad research interests ranging from neuroscience, immunology, endocrinology, genetics, and gastrointestinal host-microbe interactions. She has published over 100 peer reviewed journal articles and has received research funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and private foundations.
