Lefteris Koumakis, Ph.D., is a collaborating researcher with the Computational BioMedicine Laboratory (CBML) at the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH). He received his BSc (2001) and MSc (2004) degrees from the Dept. of Computer Science, University of Crete, and his PhD in computational biology (2104) from the Technical University of Crete. His research interests focus on eHealth, machine learning and computational biology. He has participated in various international and national R&D projects including InfoBioMed, ACGT, GEN2PHEN, P-Medicine, EURECA, ENCCA, iManageCancer, BOUNCE and MyPal. He is the developer of MinePath (www.minepath.org), a pathway analysis tool and has published articles in the areas of bioinformatics, computational biology and biomedical informatics.
