My program of research aims to identify factors that underlie the intergenerational transmission of anxiety. I focus on the parent-child relationship within a broader developmental cognitive-affective neuroscience framework. I use methods including behavioral observation, ecological momentary assessment, event-related potentials, and eye-tracking. The goal is to develop and refine mechanistically-based prevention and intervention approaches, particularly for the children of anxious parents.
