My two main research interests are eutrophication/algal blooms and production/applications of microalgae. My eutrophication research currently focuses on algal blooms in lakes and water reservoirs in southern countries (e.g. Cuba, Ecuador, Qatar). My work on microalgae production currently focuses on control of contamination in large-scale cultures, production of Arthrospira/Spirulina and flocculation-based harvesting of microalgae.
