Klaus Pierz

Klaus Pierz was born in 1959. He received the Diploma and Ph.D. degrees in experimental condensed matter physics from the Philips-University of Marburg, Germany, in 1986 and 1990, respectively. In 1991, he joined Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Brunswick, Germany. He is engaged in the fabrication of gallium arsenide heterostructures with molecular beam epitaxy for various metrological applications, e.g., quantum Hall resistance standards, quantum current standards, and terahertz (THz) devices. He is in charge for the fabrication of epitaxial graphene devices for quantum impedance metrology. Dr. Pierz is a member of the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG).
