Kjell Magnus Norderhaug

My main field of interest is coastal ecosystems and in particular kelp forests. My research focus on the importance of these marine forests, their ecology and how they are impacted by human activity. To an increasing degree this research is directed towards understanding change on large spatiotemporal scales. I have long experience with environmental monitoring with focus on how eutrophication and climate change affect coastal ecosystems. I have been project leader in national and international research and environmental monitoring projects. I have comprehensive field experience from temperate coasts and the Arctic using SCUBA diving but also new technology. I also have long experience with communicating science from an ecosystem perspective to management, society and through teaching and supervising.
