Dr. Parker conducts qualitative and mixed-methods research which examines sexual behaviors that influence STI and HIV transmission and health disparities among vulnerable populations. Her current research projects include examining the lived experience of HIV positive African American women in the South, assessing multiple variables associated with contracting HIV, social vulnerabilities, and HIV risk perceptions among African American women, and developing a vulnerable health outcomes model.
