Dr. Kenta Arai received his B.Sc. (2008), M.Sc. (2010), and Ph.D. (2012) degrees from Tokai University under supervision of Professor Dr. Michio Iwaoka. In 2013, he moved to United Kingdom as a postdoctoral fellowship of Japan Society for the Promotion Science (JSPS) at School of Chemistry, Cardiff University and studied an electrochemical organic synthesis under supervision of Prof. Dr. Thomas Wirth in 2013-2014. Currently, he is independently progressing his own researches with his students at Tokai University as a junior associate professor. He is a member of the Chemical Society Japan, Protein Science Society of Japan, the Biophysical Society of Japan, American Chemical Society, and Editorial Board of Current Green Chemistry (Bentham Science Publishers). His research involves synthesis of organoselenium compounds, modelling of ER-redox enzymes, biophysics relevant to a protein folding, electrochemistry, and flow chemistry. He is recently interested in development of drugs for misfolding diseases and anti-oxidative therapy and its application to mammalian cells.
