Biological Control and Sustainable Agriculture

Research Description:
My research focuses on the development of ecologically-based insect pest management systems. Research studies include classical biological control, augmentation programs, insect-plant interactions, use of least-disruptive insecticides and the biology of natural enemies.

Most of my research programs have an extension component because I work closely with farmers, the commodity boards and other UC Cooperative Extension personnel. Moreover, the close collaborative ties with UC Cooperative Extension agents, Pest Control Advisors and leaders in farm management has helps to extend information to a wider audience.
