个人简介
I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Chemical Technology (1995) and my Ph.D. in Chemistry (2003) from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). At UCV, I was a lecturer and researcher, participating in several research projects from 1996 to 2008 in the area of Applied Catalysis to Industrial Processes. I synthesized and characterized various catalysts for use in both fine chemistry and the petroleum industry. Additionally, I was a principal member of the Catalysis and Petrochemical Center committee at the Central University of Venezuela. In 2006, I conducted research as a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of La Laguna on the obtention of biodiesel from frying oils using heterogeneous catalysis.
In 2011, I joined the Department of Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of La Laguna (ULL), where I have participated as a research member in ten publicly funded research projects on renewable energy, energy efficiency, biocombustible production, biomass, waste valorization, heterogeneous catalysis, among others. I have been a member of ULL's Heterogeneous Catalysis research group since September 2011 and worked as a contracted researcher for four years in a research project developed within the same department and financed by DISA RENOVABLES S.L.U. I have co-directed one doctoral thesis and currently co-direct three other doctoral theses in the area of Chemical Engineering, one of which is an industrial thesis co-directed with CEPSA. I have supervised eight Master's theses, six Bachelor's theses, and fifteen undergraduate projects, all in the area of Chemical Engineering, and have written four technical reports on biotechnology. Currently, I am a lecturer and researcher in the same department.
I am a co-author of nineteen publications, ten of them indexed research articles in JCR, and the rest in other journals or books, and thirty-nine conference presentations. A significant portion of my research activity is in the area of material synthesis and characterization using various techniques for industrial applications, biocombustible production, waste energy recovery, and circular economy.
