Jeong-Jin Kang

Jeong-Jin Kang (S'87–M'99) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from Kon-Kuk University, Seoul, Korea, in 1982, 1986, and 1991, respectively. In 1991, he joined the faculty of the Department of Information and Communication, Dong Seoul College, SeongNam, Korea, where he is currently a Professor. During 2007–2008, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Michigan State University, East Lansing. His research interests involve antenna theory and design, electromagnetic theory, electromagnetic compatibility, RF device, radar target identification and wireless mobile communication (RFID/USN), as well as ultrafast microwave photonics and high-speed electro-optic measurement techniques. In 1982, he joined the Army of the Republic of Korea (ROTC) as a Communication's Officer. Following discharge, he served as a Researcher in Samsung Semiconductor Communication Company (1984–1985) and an Invitational Researcher in Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) in 1997. He was a Lecturer with the Department of Electronic Engineering, (Under) Graduate School(1989–2005) at Kon-Kuk University. Dr. Kang is a member of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (IEEE AP-S), the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (IEEE MTT-S), as well as a member of the Institute of Webcasting, Internet Television and Telecommunication (IWIT) in Korea. He is currently the vice president and a financial chair of the IWIT. He was the recipient of the 2004 IWIT Research Award, which is the Best Paper Award presented by the IWIT Conference in 2006 and 2008, respectively.
