Dorkas Kaiser

Dorkas Kaiser currently works for the Katala Foundation in Puerto Princesa City who aims at the conservation of the endemic sweet water turtle Siebenrockiella leytensins (Palawan Forest Turtle) and other endangered species, and together with the Western Philippines University (WPU) to assess the population dynamics of juvenile horseshoe crabs on Palawan (mark—recapture study). Before she worked at the Department of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology (University of Wuerzburg) in the interdisciplinary project BIOTA West Africa to assess the diversity of termites and ants along land-use gradients in Burkina Faso and the role of termites in the traditional soil restoration system Zai. Dorkas does research in Ecology, Zoology, and Marine Biology.
