Being a solid state and surface physicist I am deeply fascinated by the sheer unbelievable variety of spectacular structures, physical properties and cooperative phenomena, which originate from the pocket universes of solids and their surfaces. Understanding the properties of materials and interfaces on the basis of their electronic structure and dynamics is my primary goal.
