Justine Daudi Maganira is a Senior Lecturer in Parasitology at the Department of Biosciences, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. Maganira received his doctoral education at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Uppsala, Sweden) in 2020. He obtained his Master of Science degree from the University of Dar es Salaam. Specific research interests and expertise include the diagnosis, epidemiology, and integrated control of neglected tropical parasitic diseases such as Taenia solium taeniasis and cysticercosis and helminthiases in livestock including zoonotic agents. Recent research projects have included the epidemiology of Taenia solium porcine cysticercosis in Tanzania with funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and collaboration between the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden. Currently, Maganira is teaching Parasitology and Invertebrate Zoology-related courses at the Department of Biosciences, Sokoine University of Agriculture. He has supervised 3 Masters of Science students and has supervised over 30 undergraduate students’ projects. Maganira has published over 5 scientific papers in refereed journals and authored 2 conference papers.
