My knowledge is developed in the field of chemical ecology of plants, as I evaluate how different biotic interactions (pollination, herbivory, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi) modify the chemical profile of plants (e.g. medicinal plants) and how the bioactivity of these essential oils is affected. This branch of biology has a great social implication since the knowledge generated is vital for the framework of public health (new active principles are discovered that will form part of new medicines), agroecology (as a natural way of pest control) and in the food industry and local consumption.
