Juan C. García received the M.Sc.Eng. degree in telecommunication from Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain, and the Ph.D. degree in telecommunications from University of Alcala (UAH), Alcalá de Henares, Spain, in 1992 and 2001, respectively. Since 1990, after various activities in private industry, shared with the university, he has been an Associate Professor with UAH. His field of work focuses on field and service robotics, mainly in the area of assistive technology. His areas of interest include computer vision, embedded systems, wireless sensors and systems, systems integration, and human machine interfaces. Dr. García is a Member of the Group of Intelligent Spaces and Transportation in the UAH. He was a recipient of a special award from UAH in 2001.
