Cancela Jorge

Jorge Cancela received the B.S. degree in telecommunications engineering and the M.Sc. degree in telemedicine and biomedical engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Spain, in 2009, where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering. He received a grant to conduct his research from the Campus de Excelencia Internacional CEI Moncloa, UPM, and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He was a Visiting Researcher with the Motion Analysis Laboratory, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, USA, in 2011, the Duke-National University of Singapore (Singapore) in 2012, and the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2015. Since 2009, he has been with the Lifestyle Supporting Technologies Group, UPM, where he has been involved in several research and development projects dealing with information and communication technologies in the healthcare field. In 2015, he received the IDEAš Madrid Award from the Madrid-MIT M+Visión Consortium and a merit prize at the Young Investigator Award 2015 from the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering. His research interests involve the design, development and evaluation of eHealth, mHealth and telehealth systems, including the evaluation of human factors, interaction and health technology assessment, and the used of machine learning in this field.
