Joon Ha Kim received the B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Korea University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1998, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical and biochemical engineering from the University of California at Irvine, Irvine, CA, USA, in 2001 and 2003, respectively. He is a Professor with the School of Earth Sciences and Environmental Engineering, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Gwangju, South Korea. He is also the Director of the International Environmental Research Center/UNU-GIST Joint Program, GIST. Since 2004, he has been with the School of Earth Sciences and Environmental Engineering, GIST. His current research interests include environmental systems engineering, water quality modeling, watershed management, data mining, modeling of complex systems, non-point source pollutants modeling and management, desalination engineering and optimization, and membrane systems optimization in water treatment.
