个人简介
I'm an MD/PhD candidate with Texas A&M University School of Medicine currently training at Houston Methodist Hospital. My current research applies artificial intelligence (machine learning and deep learning) to stroke neuroimaging, and I am focused on enhancing, augmenting, and linking multiple neuroimaging modalities, such as MRI and CT, to improve early disease detection, intervention, and outcome prediction. Specifically, I’m working on using AI to improve early detection of acute ischemic stroke through image denoising/stroke segmentation, to augment available stroke visualization through multimodal image mapping, and to improve patient intervention and rehabilitation with a multiomics approach to predictive outcome modeling.
I began my education and research training at Brigham Young University investigating MRI neuroanatomical changes in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia. I graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience in 2015. While applying for medical school, I worked during my gap year at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus on a Phase II cancer immunotherapy clinical trial for the treatment of advanced melanoma. From there, I transitioned to Houston Methodist Research Institute in 2016 helping develop a novel swine model of hemorrhagic stroke. I subsequently joined the combined MD/PhD program at Texas A&M University School of Medicine in 2016 with a focus on clinical translational sciences where I enjoy my current research.
