Agroecologist with a specific interest in the ecology and role of insects inhabiting farmland. Research interests in farming systems, especially management techniques to encourage beneficial insects and conservation biocontrol; spatial distribution of invertebrates in farmed ecosystems; insects and farmland bird diets; evaluation and development of agri-environment schemes for farmland wildlife; indirect effects of pesticides on invertebrates and farmland birds. Authored more than 120 scientific publications. Experienced project leader. Coordinator of FP7 project QUESSA.
