I am studying about the prevalence of the disease called idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) among the elderly in a county in Sweden. Despite being a treatable cause of dementia and gait impairment among the elderly, INPH is relatively unknown among the public and health care professionals. Our goal is to find out how common it is in Jamtland, Sweden by conducting a population-based epidemiologic study. Hopefully, increased knowledge will lead to more people getting the correct diagnosis and treatment.
