He is Full Professor at Dept. of Economics, Management, Industrial Engineering and Tourism (DEGEIT), University of Aveiro, and member of the The Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies (GOVCOPP) in Competitiveness, Innovation and Sustainability Research Group. He holds a PhD degree in Production Engineering (2003) and Habilitation for Full Professor "Agregacao" (2014). His areas of research focus in Sustainable Industrial Engineering and Management in general and in Sustainable Energy Systems and Management Systems, as Quality, Maintenance, OHS, Operations, among others, in particular.
