个人简介
I am an assistant professor at the Department of Soil Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison. I got my Ph.D. degree at the University of New South Wales, Australia on developing new methods (e.g., non-invasive electromagnetic induction) and mechanistic and empirical models for monitoring and mapping soil water dynamics at the field to catchment scale for irrigation scheduling and soil salinity management. Before joining UW-Madison, I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales, Australia on combining proximal and remote sensing technologies and machine learning models to understand and monitor the effects of climate change and human disturbance on soil changes in Australian natural and managed ecosystems.
The research interests of my lab are:
1) To integrate proximal and remote sensing and process-based models to improve the fundamental understanding of water, carbon, nutrient, and energy cycles under climate change and human disturbance
2) To combine soil sensing technologies, big data analytics, and machine learning to monitor, model, and map water, carbon, nutrient, and energy fluxes across scales for sustainable natural resources management
I teach Physical Principles of Soil and Water Management (Soil Sci. 322, Spring Semester) for undergraduate and master students and Soil Physics (Soil Sci. 622, Fall Semester) for master and PhD students. I teach Using R for Soil and Environmental Sciences at the graduate and undergraduate levels (Soil Sci. 585, Summer Semester, Online).
