Bio
Infrared lasers can be used to stimulate and inhibit neural activity without needing exogenous agents or genetic modification. My research aims to optimize our inhibition of small diameter neurons towards the development of a therapy for chronic pain. This involves probing the biophysical mechanisms of infrared inhibition and optimizing the laser light application computationally and experimentally.
