Jeffrey C. Drazen

Jeffrey C. Drazen received the B.A. degree in biology and marine science from the University of San Diego, San Diego, CA, in 1993, and the Ph.D. degree in marine biology from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, CA, in 2000. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, before joining the Oceanography Department, University of Hawaii, Manoa, where he is currently an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Biological Oceanography Division. He has been an Affiliate Faculty Member with the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology, Kaneohe, since 2007. He regularly teaches courses in pelagic ecology and deep-sea biology. His current research interests include feeding ecology, energetic, and physiological ecology of marine fish, particularly those from the deep ocean.
