Jeanine Suurmond

Dr Jeanine Suurmond is assistant professor at the department of Public Health at the Academic Medical Centre/University of Amsterdam. My research program aims to identify and overcome barriers in care access among underserved groups (such as migrants) using a multi-disciplinary lens on theory and methodology with the ultimate aim to achieve equal access to care services for equal need. I supervise PhD, MA & BA students in medical & health sciences with a special focus on qualitative research about access to care for migrants and refugees and their children, and on cultural competence training for health care providers and medical students.
