Jean-Yves Rasplus

I'm a taxonomist and an evolutionary biologist working on insects. My main group of interest are chalcid wasps, including figwasps and wasps used in biological control, i.e. Trichogramma (ANR TRIptic). I'm involved in projects dealing with phylogenomics of Chalcidoidea (Agaonidae, Pteromalidae and Chalcididae)(NSF); Carabidae; Sphingid and Saturniid moths (ANR SPHINX) as well as other pests. I'm also studying communities of vectors that transmit Xylella fastidiosa to plants in Europe (XF-Actors). Finally, I sampled and identified fig trees (Ficus, Moraceae) over the last 30 years. I have photographed +500 species in the wild and plan to produce soon an illustrated book on the Ficus of the world.
