Gonzalez, J.-J.

Jean-Jacques Gonzalez received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Université Paul Sabatier (UPS), Toulouse, France, in 1987 and 1992, respectively. He was temporarily attached to research and teaching with UPS from 1992 to 1994. Since 1994, he has been with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Paris, France, where he was a Researcher and then became the Research Director in 2007. He managed the Arc électrique et Procédés Plasmas Thermiques Team from 1997 to 2007. He is currently the Research Director of CNRS. He is involved in research with the Centre de Physique des Plasmas et de leurs Applications de Toulouse, Toulouse, which was a common laboratory between CNRS and UPS (UMR N.5002). He is a member of the Laboratory on Plasma and Energy Conversion, UMR CNRS-UPS-INP-5213, UPS, where he is involved in plasmas and electrical engineering, created in 2007 from the fusion of previous laboratories. He has authored or co-authored some 150 publications in scientific reviews and international conferences. His current research interests include electric arcs, thermal plasmas, and their applications (circuit breakers, plasma torches, and high-temperature processes), and in particular, the modeling of thermal plasma flows (at equilibrium or considering thermal and/or chemical disequilibrium), the study and consideration of the turbulence, and the interaction of plasma surface considering metallic vapors. Dr. Gonzalez is a member of the Association Arc Electrique.
