Javier Solis Cespedes

Javier Solis is Research Professor with the Institute of Optics of the National Research Council of Spain where he serves as the Head of the Department of Ultrafast, Nonlinear, and Nanoscale Photonics. He is a project leader and founding member of the Laser Processing Group (http://lpg.io.csic.es). He has also served as the d Director and Deputy Director of the Institute. His research interests at present are mainly related to the use of ultrashort laser pulses for materials processing. He has also made a number of contributions in other topics related to laser-matter interaction, like optical recording, non-linear optics or ultrafast imaging. He has published about two hundred research papers and delivered more than fifty invited talks in these topics. He is member of the Materials Research Society (MRS), Senior Member of Optical Society (OSA) and co-founder of Specialized Group in Ultrafast Lasers of the Royal Physical Society of Spain.
