Biography
My research interests are on the solar wind and other low-energy space plasmas, interplanetary coronal mass ejections, and the design and calibration of space-based plasma mass spectrometers. Specific topics of interest include pickup ions, low-charge-state space plasmas, ion mass spectrometry, and the development of new measurement techniques. I am a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and oversee the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory at U-M, which includes facilities for prototype testing and calibration of instrument systems. I am also involved with public outreach efforts and have mentored over 20 undergraduate and graduate students.
