Jannice Schau Slettemeas

I am a researcher at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute with a degree in Cell biology with emphasis on genetic characteristic of Escherichia coli in wild living animals. My main work area is on antimicrobial resistant bacteria (AMR) in food, feed and animals with expertise in microbiology, molecular biology and bioinformatics. I am responsible for the the national reference function on antimicrobial resistance and I am a main contributor to the monitoring of antimicrobial resistance in the veterinary sector in Norway and in several research projects regarding for instance quinolone and cephalosporin resistant bacteria, and the characterization of plasmid mediated resistance. The research group on AMR at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute has long-time experience in research on AMR, including studies on molecular epidemiology of AMR, plasmids and analysis of WGS sequencing data.
