I work on land surface processes and land surface-atmosphere coupling. Mainly, I use modelling approaches, e.g. global (GCM) and limited area models for numerical weather prediction (NWP) and climate simulations. Currently, I am working on a new unified land surface model for NWP and climate simulations at the German Meteorological Service and the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology. Besides this, I am coordinating the COSMO Priority Project CITTA' on urban modelling in the ICON model.
