I have conducted community-based public health research in low-income neighborhoods for over fifteen years, with a focus on the behavioral, social and cultural factors that contribute to the spread of HIV and HCV in vulnerable populations and the development of prevention interventions, including implementation of biomedical approaches to HIV prevention among high-risk urban heterosexual couples. I have also contributed to the advancement of biostatistical methods applied to social epidemiology.
