James D. Doyle is head of the Mesoscale Modeling Section in the US Naval Research Laboratory's Marine Meteorology Division in Monterey, California. His research interests include mesoscale modeling, predictabitity, tropical cyclones, topographically forced flows, and parallel computing. Doyle has a PhD in meteorology from Pennsylvania State University. He is a fellow of the American Meteorological Society.
