Jaewon Kang

Jaewon Kang received the BS and MS degrees in computer engineering from Seoul National University in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Computer Science, Rutgers University. Before entering the PhD program at Rutgers, he joined LG Electronics in 1994, working in the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) Smartphone Laboratory for the development of embedded operating system, wireless Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/Internet Protocol (IP) suite, and CDMA data services for CDMA smart phones. His current research interest includes voice over packet wireless networks, fair packet scheduling in Internet backbone routers, and congestion control in wireless sensor networks. He received an award from the IBM Personal Systems Products division for contributions to the enhancement of the IBM Microkernel in 1995. He is a student member of the IEEE.
