Associate Professor Jacob Wood is currently the Associate Dean of Research for the College of Business, Law and Governance in JCU Australia and the Associate Dean of Research for Business, IT, and Science in JCU Singapore. In addition to this, he is also the Director of the Centre for International Trade and Business in Asia (CITBA) [www.jcu.edu.au/citba] and an Associate Professor of Trade and Economics at JCU. Associate Professor Wood was also awarded the Academic and Researcher of year in 2019 for JCU Singapore for his excellence and overall achievements in the field. With a PhD in International Studies majoring in International Trade, Associate Professor Wood has more than 10 years experience working in South Korea where he has held roles as an Assistant Professor at Korea University of Technology and Education and then more recently as an Assistant Professor of Asia Business at Chungnam National University. Associate Professor Wood's research interests focus on issues in the fields of development economics, microeconomics and international trade, in particular, the effect of non-tariffs on trade flows, the role of domestic politics in free trade negotiations and the WTO dispute settlement mechanism. He has published several works on employee engagement and is also interested in the concept of social networks analysis and has published several studies in the Journal of Scientometrics. His works have also been published in the Journal of Cleaner Production, the Journal of World Trade, Sustainability, the Singapore Economic Review, the Journal of Asia-Pacific Economic Literature, and the Economies Journal amongst others. Associate Professor Wood is also currently the Primary Investigator for a Korean National Foundation supported grant on the effect of non-tariff barriers in Asia, in which he received 50 million Korean Won in funding [National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF-2017S1A5A2A03068293)]. He is also a Fellow at the Cairns Institute and is actively pursuing project opportunities between the institute and CITBA.
