His background is in biomedical sciences and clinical epidemiology. His research focuses on mHealth, self-management and decision support based on clinical, behavioural and environmental parameters. He is the initiator of the PatientCoach self-management support and monitoring app for patients with chronic conditions. His team provides the infrastructure for the Dutch RAPSODI and international SHARP CENTRAL registries for severe asthma.
