Dr. Ing. Jacco Briede studied Chemistry at the University Utrecht. In 2001 he defended his thesis "Regulation of thrombin formation at the surfaces of adherent platelets". As assistant professor, his research subject concerns the applicability of electron spin resonance spectrometry (ESR or EPR) in the study of radical formation and their involvement in environmental health risk assessment and molecular toxicology. Also, the increased application of “omics” technologies drawn his interest.
