Romero-Otero is a Medical Doctor born in Madrid. In 2000, he obtained a degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Complutense University of Madrid, the institution where he completed his PhD thesis, awarded the magna cum laude distinction.

Romero-Otero finished a residency in Urology at the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, and worked in several centres of excellence in the United States. Then, he completed his training by working as a Fellow in Uro-Oncology in 2006 and 2007 at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre.

Romero-Otero practises his profession thoroughly in all possible fields: healthcare, research and teaching.

Healthcare
In the healthcare field, the Dr. Romero-Otero is highly specialised in Prostate pathology, Andrology and Reconstructive Surgery of the Genital Area. He works at the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre (public institution) and as Department Head at the private HM Hospitales and as Medical Director at ROC Clinic.

Teaching
Romero-Otero is a Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, a Professor and Faculty Coordinator at the CEU San Pablo University, and a professor of several Master’s degree programmes in Urology.

Research
Romero-Otero is the Head of an accredited research group for R+D+I in Comprehensive Male Health. He has written more than 25 chapters of books and has published more than 70 research papers in indexed PubMed journals. As a member of the editorial committee of several journals related to his speciality, he has presented more than 200 research papers in scientific conferences. Such a thorough activity has led him to occupy different positions in scientific associations.
