Joshua Gundersen was born in La Crosse, WI, in 1966. He received the S.B. degree in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, in 1988, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1995. He did post-doctoral research with Brown University, Providence, RI, and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was a Dicke Post-Doctoral Fellow with Princeton University, Princeton, NJ. He joined the Physics Department, University of Miami, Miami, FL, as an Assistant Professor in 2000, and he is currently an Associate Professor there. His research interests are in observational cosmology and associated instrumentation design. His undergraduate and graduate research focused on studies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) temperature anisotropy, while his post-doctoral and current research includes studies of the CMB polarization and the cosmic far-infrared background.
