He has contributed toward the pertinent current state of the art and authored or coauthored 96 journal papers, 6 book chapters, more than 200 conference proceedings, and a book (jointly with Prof. Eric Pottier) titled Polarimetric Radar Imaging: From Basics to Application (Taylor and Francis/CRC, 2009). His professional expertise encompasses synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and polarimetric SAR information processing, including radar polarimetry, polarimetric SAR speckle statistics, speckle filtering, supervised and unsupervised polarimetric SAR terrain and land-use classification, digital image processing, radiative transfer, and control theory.,Dr. Lee was the recipient of the 2009 Distinguished Achievement Award of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, the Best Paper Award (jointly with E. Pottier) and the Best Poster Award (jointly with D. Schuler) at EUSAR2000 and EUSAR2002, respectively. He was an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing.
