Jasronita Jasni

Biography Jasronita Jasni received her B. Eng (H) and M. E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia on 1998 and 2001 respectively. Her passion in Electrical field urge her to continue her study in Electrical Power Engineering and received her PhD degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia on 2010. Currently, she is an associate professor in Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia. She is also the Head of High Voltage Laboratory at the faculty. Not limited to that, she plays the role as Research Associate at the Centre for Electromagnetic and Lightning Protection Research (CELP), Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is also active as an auditor and auditee for swa-accreditation and quality auditing in Universiti Putra Malaysia. She plays as former Academic Coordinator at the department and helps in giving advice to the current Coordinator. Dr. Jasronita is a registered member of IEEE, IEEE Power Engineering Society, IEEE Women in Engineering, Malaysian Society for Engineering & Technology (MySET) and registered Graduate Engineer with Board of Engineers, Malaysia. She is actively contributed as an Advisor to government agencies such as Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA), Energy Commission of Malaysia, Ministry of Education Malaysia and Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia. To date she has authored and co-authored over 200 articles comprising of high impact journals and conference proceedings. A number of 6 PhD students and 6 MSc students are under her supervision and some of them have graduated excellently. She was especially interested in electrical power engineering, power system stability, transformer, and lightning protection system. She has received several awards and recognitions such as excellent in service award at university level, excellent in teaching at faculty, silver medal in INNOVA/EUREKA Brussels, bronze medal in MTE 2009 and silver medal in Pameran Rekabentuk, Penciptaan dan Inovasi (PRPI) UPM. Dr. Jasronita’s accomplishment did not end there, in 2014 she has been awarded as best paper award in 2014 IEEE Innovative Smart Grid Technologies-Asia (ISGT) and 2014 International Conference on Electrical Power Engineering & Applications (ICEPEA).
