个人简介
Jiro Itatani received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics, the Ph.D. degree in
applied physics, all from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1992, 1994, and 1998, respectively. While working
toward the Ph.D. degree, he worked on Ti:sapphire CPA lasers and related technologies. A part of the Ph.D. degree was
received from the Center for Ultrafast Optical Science, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. He is an Associate
Professor at the Institute for Solid State Physics, University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. In 1998, he was with RIKEN,
Japan, as a Postdoctoral Researcher, started to work on high harmonic generation. In 2000, he moved to National
Research Council Canada as a Postdoctoral Researcher, worked on attosecond measurement techniques, molecular high
harmonic generation, and the first demonstration of molecular orbital tomography. In 2003, he joined the Koshihara
Nonequilibrium Dynamics Project of the Japan Science and Technology Agency as a Group Leader, where he worked on the
ultrafast spectroscopy of photo-induced phase transition in strongly correlated materials. During the project, he
stayed at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, CA, USA, as a Visiting Scholar. Since 2008, he has been
at the Institute for Solid State Physics, University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. His research interests include intense
ultrafast laser sources, attosecond and strong-field physics, and ultrafast soft-X-ray spectroscopy. He is a Senior
Member of the Optical Society of America.
