Julio Isla

Julio Isla received the Engineering (summa cum laude) degree in telecommunications and electronics and the M.Sc. degree in radio-electronics from the Instituto Superior Polytechnic José Antonio Echeverría (ISPJAE), Havana, Cuba, in 2009 and 2012, respectively. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the Non-Destructive Evaluation Group, Imperial College London, London, U.K. He was with the Bioengineering Department, ISPJAE, from 2009 to 2011, and the Institute of Cybernetics, Mathematics and Physics, Havana, from 2011 to 2013. He has been with Permasense Ltd., Horsham, U.K., since 2014, a company that commercializes the low-power electromagnetic acoustic transducer technology that he developed with colleagues. He has also consulted for other international companies. His current research interests include low-power transduction, arrays, instrumentation, and signal processing.
