Jeanne du Fay de Lavallaz

Jeanne du Fay de Lavallaz, MD-PhD, is a cardiology fellow currently training in Zürich, Switzerland. She graduated as a medical doctor (MD) in 2016 and received her doctorate (PhD) degree in Clinical Cardiology with the mention "summa cum laude" in 2019 from the University of Basel. She trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at several institutions, both in the US (Rush University Medical Center, Chicago) and in Switzerland (University Hospital of Basel, University Hospital of Zürich and Triemlispital, Zürich). Her research in Clinical Cardiology and Electrophysiology focusses on the investigation of cardiac syncope, diagnostic and treatment of atrial fibrillation, electrophysiological procedures for ventricular arrhythmia and the use of cardiac biomarkers in special patients populations. She authored and co-authored more than 100 scientific publications in international journals, including first authorship in high-impact cardiology journals such as "Circulation" or the "Journal of the American College of Cardiology". Her special interest for emerging technologies and for the rise of machine learning in medicine led her to undertake the competitive "Master of Computing and Information Technology" from the University of Pennsylvania, providing her with a formal training in computing sciences. Her research has been funded by several grants from the Swiss Heart Foundation. Since 2022, she is the Statistical Editor for the "Journal of Interventional Electrophysiology". She received numerous scientific awards, including among others the Award for the best PhD Thesis from the University of Basel, the Otto Hess Trainee Award, The Pfizer Research Price and the T.
