Biostatistics is a scientific discipline that applies quantitative methods to study scientific evidence available in data. Variables that are of interest to biomedical researchers are subject to various sources of variability (e.g. purely due by chance, due to measurement error, due to a treatment, due to certain characteristics of patients). As a biostatistician, I am interested to develop and apply statistical models to disentangle these different sources of variation.
