Our group's expertise is mainly in Molecular Biology and Microbiology of fungal pathogen interaction. Considering the complex nature of this interplay, the projects ongoing in our group aim to understand fungal virulence and host immune response, emphasizing Candida, and Cryptococcus fungi. Our key questions in this interplay are fungal mechanisms of adaptation, virulence, and evasion. Due to the impact of fungal diseases and the increasing antimicrobial resistance, small peptides are studied.
